Travel That Engages the Mind, Body, and Spirit

When I began imagining Fellow Travelers, I kept returning to a simple question: What makes a journey truly meaningful?

For me, the answer has never been just where we go. It is how a place engages us—and what we carry home because of it.

That philosophy grew from my own experiences. At different points in my life, I’ve found joy and meaning in personal growth, physical activity, cultural discovery, travel, and being part of the LGBTQ+ community. Fellow Travelers brings those parts of my life together through journeys designed to engage the mind, body, and spirit.

Engage the Mind

Travel is one of our greatest opportunities to learn. History becomes more vivid when we walk the streets where it happened. Culture becomes more meaningful when we experience it through food, art, architecture, traditions, and conversation.

The best journeys awaken our curiosity and invite us to see the world—and perhaps some of our assumptions—a little differently.

Nurture the Body

Movement has always been important to me, whether it’s pickleball, yoga, hiking, or simply walking for hours through a fascinating city.

Being active while traveling allows us to experience a destination differently. Crossing the Pyrenees on foot, playing pickleball beneath the desert mountains, or exploring a neighborhood one street at a time connects us physically to where we are.

But well-being also means knowing when to slow down, rest, enjoy a wonderful meal, or simply do nothing at all.

Restore the Spirit

Then there are the moments that are harder to put on an itinerary.

A conversation over dinner. Laughter with someone you met only days earlier. Standing before a landscape that makes you feel wonderfully small. Or finding a quiet moment to consider where you are in life and what might come next.

These experiences create space for reflection and connection.

I created Fellow Travelers because I believe travel can be more than an escape from everyday life. It can help us return to it differently.

A memorable journey should stimulate our curiosity, invite us to move, give us permission to rest, connect us with others, and occasionally create enough space to reconnect with ourselves.

That is the kind of travel I want Fellow Travelers to inspire.

Not simply seeing more of the world, but discovering what moves us along the way.
